Do you ever go to Costco and get the rotisserie chicken? And then you’re not sure what to do with the rest of it? Or maybe you’re like us and your wife made chicken soup for your sick kids and you have a bunch of leftovers. Beef Protein Pasta

This might be my favorite pasta dish to make, regardless of whether it is high-protein or not. It combines meat, cheese, and pasta and is super filling. You can make a bunch of it and freeze individual portions but in my family it doesn’t last long enough to do that. It’s such a simple dish that you can also add hot sauce or modify any of the ingredients and quantities to whatever you like. The main important things here to keep in mind are the lean ground beef (it’s just not the same with chicken or turkey) and the high-protein pasta.

Chicken Breakfast Burritos

One thing I find super helpful during the week is to meal plan so that I can have meals ready to eat for myself and my family. I found a recipe for a simple breakfast burrito that is healthy and packed with protein. Also these super simple to make. The hardest part was figuring out how to roll a burrito without it falling apart. This recipe will result in 8 burritos that you can freeze and pop in the microwave later whenever you need to.

Steak and Zucchini Rice Bowl

One of my son’s favorite restaurants to eat at is Bennihanna. For obvious reasons, we only go there on special occassions. I’m sure the show that the chef puts on is entertaining for him, but he’s really more into the food there and I can’t say I blame him. It’s hard to mess up steak, butter, and fried rice and it’s pretty consistent. I have here a healthier alternative to this recipe. It’s not exactly Bennihanna, or anything like it at all actually but it’s still a good meal. Feel free to change it up and add butter and whatever else you want to make it closer to the original or your own style, but my version here is based on a goal to meet specific macros.

For my seasoning, I went to my favorite Kinder’s The Blend, but you can just use salt, pepper, and garlic powder too.

Hello World! Welcome to my blog/recipe site. The point of this website is primarily so that I can save and quickly look up some of my favorite recipes. As a dad of young kids, I enjoy cooking, grilling, and smoking delicious and healthy meals for my wife and kids. Over the years I have accumulated, modified, and/or come up with recipes that are kind of in my head or I have to dig around to find where I originally got them. Plus I really don’t like most recipe websites where you have to read a 10-page bio of every recipe and fight the 30 pop-up ads that coming up. It’s very distracting when you’re cooking and have your hands preoccupied with actually making the meal.

Also, as someone in their mid-40’s, I try to eat pretty healthy. I want to be around as long as I can and also be active with myself and my family. The things I focus a lot on are high protein, low sugar, and if I’m cooking for myself and the wife, lower calories.
